Diff Oil Plug

Not much help to the OP but I'm sure my diff plug was a star shaped hole and not a hex allen key. I used the ones which attach to a 1/2" socket wrench (together with some heat) and it worked.

How did you ensure correct amount in diff? Too little=metal filings too much=blown seals!!!

 

I wouldn't worry about the sea lions overly, there is a breather which would eject excessive pressure

Put it down to senility -- forget I put a new breather tube on our diff. during build.

Use a chisel thats not too sharp hit it around the edge in a few different places anti clockwise its always worked for me

hope this is clear and try not to damage the back plate

Most of the replies are ok if the diff is out of the car ok ,but on my mono car the fuel tank ,std RH 30 litre is only 4/5 inches away from the diff so not a lot of swinging space for a 2lb driver ! I got it out and fitted a another diff a month later ! mower man

As said before ---- 36" Stilsons will move or ruin anything!!
