I've posted some pics of my car to get some feedback on what I might still need to do pre taking the car for IVA. I know I'll need to fit the other harness(!), but what about the dash edge, do I need to do more with it? and the square edge of my boot cover? All constructive comments most welcome, thanks in advance Angus

Thanks for the pointers and the complimentary comments, going to go and look at the wiring in the engine bay and give it some more thought. Also hadn't thought about the hazard switch. Might need to move it to the exemption area...

Any thoughts on the corner of the boot cover, I'm thinking I might have to round it off a bit.

Many thanks

Angus

Looks good Angus :good: - well done :clapping:

Does the horn switch need the "standard" symbol on it ?

thanks Robin, I'm only about 2 years behind schedule! Another good point, might try asking when I get my IVA appointment through, currently still 'searching' for my receipts....

The IVA manual says this:

Where provided Identification of Controls, Tell-tales and Indicators;

1.

Must be clear so not to cause confusion.

2.

Must be on or as close to the controls, tell-tales and indicators as possible as not to cause confusion.

3.

Must stand out clearly from the background.

So I'd expect HORN written by the switch as opposed to the symbol would be OK.

Thanks for the clarification, haven't read the IVA manual for a good while, must look at it and check that I got all my light heights etc correct.

Cheers Angus

The IVA manual says you need a central mirror, actually an inside mirror and and an offside.

You could recess your hazard warning switch if the button is over 5mm high.

Add a cable tie to wiring running underneath rear nearside suspension support.
