Hi all,

does anyone know if the 2B windscreen is sutiable for a chip repair, nice lorry kicked up a large stone and its left a small chip in the screen. Kind of lucky though it missed the body work and me.

don't know for sure but certainly my 2b has a toughened screen not a laminated. If you look on the screen it should have the markings saying what it is. i don't know if that is suitable for chip repair you should probably ask someone like autoglass to be sure.

 

Don't think it would be that expensive to have a flat sheet of laminated cut to size so could be worth investigating the cost of a replacement.

 

When i bought mine RH was selling spare glass for £25! really should have bought a spare.

I have had 2 screens in 7+ years ,please do not use a non laminated one , I lost an eye a lot of years back and will not knowingly drive behind any thing else than laminated,your local glass co will cut one for you using the old screen as a pattern for 30/40 quid . 1 piece of glass 2mmx3mm took my eye out ! mowerman
