Hi all,

Have got myself in to a little problem. I have got an alternator with bolts on the back for connectors instead of the standard Sierra alternator which has male type connectors. Anyone got any idea's where the 3 cables connect to ?

Cheers All.

Your two reds combine (or you may just have one fatter red)and go to the big bolt. The skinny blue goes to a connector labeled D, 61 or L. You might just possibly have a blue/white wire and this is 6v feed to the electric choke. Not sure where you connect this if you've got it. Perhaps fit a manual choke?

Guest Mr Pid

I had the same problem as you, i went for the latter option as Nigel said, the later alternator with the three pin plug, the wiring is easy to sort our and the alternator is a bit smaller which is a big help especially when you're running out of space.

Good Luck
