Narrow Or Winde Band?

wide every time! It's almost impossible to tune using a narrowband as all it will tell you is whether 'rich' or 'lean'. A wideband will give you a figure that will tell you how rich or how lean it is.

Wide band outputs at 0-5v, narrow band acts more like a switch, uses 0-1v output, logarithmic. So, i found with some that 0.9v is lean, 0.97v is rich. Add to this voltage fluctuation in the car, and you have problems for getting correct results. Narrow aren't bad for an early warning, but no good for tuning.

Try a 5 wire lambda sensor off a VAG car,

This should tie in nice with the megasquirt for real time mapping, or even control of mixture on idle.

I use a Innovate LM2 wide band data logger, its stand alone and the sensor clamps on the tailpipe. If your in the area, your welcome to take some readings. :)
