Iva Ok Fuel Cap

Hi guys just got apanic on about my fuel filler cap am i right in thinking it now needs to be of the flip cap sort or is it ok so long as it locks,if its a flip cap does anyone know where i can purchase one at asensible price.

Can be a conventional one but from memory it needs to be tethered to the car or needs to be locked/unlocked with the ignition key and the key can't come out unless the cap is back in. The idea is that you can't drive off without the cap.

 

You can download the manual so it's quite easy to check the precise regulations.

+1 for Iain's comment above, fully correct to the latest IVA regs as i interpret them.

 

On a side note, also ensure the tank has it's own earth strap, they seem keen on this recently.
