7" Sierra Diff Bolts.

Hi all,

changed the diff today and if you've ever done it you'll know what the two long bolts are like to remove after maybe 20 years of corrosion, got them out but one isn't useable, any idea where I can buy 2 new ones? Tried the local fastener place and they had them too long, can thread them but the threads won't be as strong as original, looked on Kitspares site and a couple of others but no joy, got the diff in place with the old bolts, no nuts, so I can rebuild the rest and swap the bolts when I get them.

It's a 7" Sierra diff.

Thanks

Chris

Would have thought studding is too low a tensile strength for this safety critical fixing. It may seem that the bolts are subject to a shear load but the tensile "grip" is important too. Maybe I'm too fussy, but that's MHO; stick with the Ford bolts, studding only for build-up.

Hi, thanks for the help, searched Ebay yesterday and found only 1 secondhand, wouldn't have found them on Caprisport without the number, 2 now ordered, £11:75 the pair with postage, thanks.
