After countless engine up-grades over the many years, i've finally booked a rolling road tuning session (2/4/12).

It turns out this place is less than a 10 minute walk away from my house http://www.dyno-tech.co.uk

amazing what is on your doorstep without realizing!!!

They've estimated £180 + VAT for a half day tuning session, which will include mapping the megajolt, tuning the carbs and tweeking the cam timing along with other things........

And for those interested;

2.1 pinto

big vavle head

kent fr32 cam

twin 48 webers (choked to 38mm and jetted to the engine)

3d ignition (megajolt)

+ loads more which I've forgot atm

I'd be dissappointed if it turned out less than 140 at the fly wheel......but who knows!

124 at wheels....what do you think that would be at the fly wheel?

I know the wheel figures are what really matter........but the fly wheel figures sound better lol........being honest, it's the fly wheel figures im going to quote in the pub!!!!

i have a similar spec to yours, but i have bike carbs and standard valves, mine made 150 at the fly at bogg brothers

would expect yours to match or better it!

best of luck with it

I'm now taking bets on the final "wheels" bhp figures will be.........

No prizes........except pride of course!!! :-)

If my pinto made 155 fly then yours should be 160ish if its a good un, dynos generally disappoint people, Russ who i use loves the look on peoples faces when its not what they expect...

Yeah they do. They put a full report together (in a fancy ring binder) of all the figures and graphs from each test they do.

They also give you print outs of the engine ignition maps, carb jettings etc......

all-in-all, what you get at the end of the half a day session is very comprehensive.

right......after discovering that the rear crank oil seal was leaking the day before the rolling road was due......then taking my eninge out and proceeding to drop it on the floor thus buggering up the cam pulley and kn filters and cancelling the rolling road day......all engine parts are replaced, the car runs amazing and now the rolling road session has been re-booked for the 30th April.

Lets hope I can keep it all in one peice for the next 2 weeks or so!!!!

Hi Richard, mine is running a 2.1, Kawasaki Z6 carbs,FR33 cam and only a 2D map on the megajolt, and it made 145 at the rear wheels at Bogg Bros.

So I hope you get a pleasant surprise, Good Luck.

rolling road results are in!! the car went in and measured 97bhp at the wheels......it cam out with 131bhp at the wheels!!

The session cost me £200+VAT, and included new air correction tubes and main jets. I've also been told I need smaller accel pump jets, but they didn't have any at the garage so they couldn't alter that.

The twin 48's which everyone tells me are too big actually turned out to be okay because they are choked to 38mm.

Engine compression ratio not a problem!!! (thought it might be too high).

Extremely happy with the results and the car feels amazing.....such smooth power and loads more of it!!!

It does seem to over-run more than it did before, but I'm not complaining as it sounds awsome!!!!

That's a great outcome, paying 200 quid for that much bhp is money well spent. It is a smooth delivery or does the torque kick in over 3500 rpm?
