Don't know if the Zero pedal is the same but my S7 originally had a std sierra cable passing through the exhaust and even though insulated suffered from the heat so I obtained a 4x4 one which is longer and bypasses the exhausts

If the original cable had a threaded outer at the gearbox end and two adjuster nuts then it could have been from a MK 2 Escort. Similar fixings were found on Cortina 4/5 ; Granada 2 and (I think) Capri 2. They were of differing lengths so you'll need to do your own research there.

Depending on quite a few things i.e. method of adjustment etc this can be a mine feild to the unwary so be carefull and if you find the correct one for your car buy 2 , I at present run a late non 4wd cosworth cable witch seems ok and has cured the prob of the cable getting fried by the exhaust ,it works on mine but would not gaurantee it on others mower man
