Hi all,

I have a robin hood 2b that i am starting to build, I bought this kit off ebay

and some tw*t has cut a slit in the top mount for the rear coilovers. I have watched

the videos and it looks like they have done this to fit old type sierra springs. I will

put some pictures up so you know what i mean.

will it pass IVA

I used the old shock tube when making the upper mount for Gas coil-overs,the tube when very clean is a greased sliding fit in the roll-over tube(unlike the pr1k in a bucket fit of the RH supplied mount)Your builder couldn't be bothered to clean the tube or he got it stuck & needed the angle grinder to get it free. Not much help with a solution though, maybe clean the old shock tube & use it as a sleeve to give smooth bore then weld the a/grinder split -- then new tube of sliding fit to make upper shock mount.

mine were cut like yours, although the cuts were not so long, bolt through the GBS mount passed IVA ok earlier this year and IVA man did look at this area as he failed the coil over top bolt as it didn't go al the way through the lock nut.

Have aways meant to weld them up, but petrol very near now so probably won't!
