Relay Requirements

Disco

Recommended Posts

Just getting back to starting the electrics on the car. I have an old style wiring loom as supplied by GBSC with a seperate fuse box and 3 relay slots in a seperate box.

Which relay slot does what and where best to purchase the relays i need.

Also with regard to the fuse box what values are required?

Regards

Disco

two relays are for headlights, the ones with the blue/red and blue/white wires going to the holders.

any standard relay will do from any motor accessory shop. (4 pins labelled 30,85,86,87 one pin is 90deg to other three)

third one is flasher relay, any basic three pin flasher unit will do (unless you are using front and or rear led lights)

again usually available from a motorist shop

10amp in each should cover you, but always put temp safety circuit (bulb in battery earth wire) in when you first power up.
