Winter project Steve. I'm very happy with the 4 speed that is in but my co driver (younger son !!!!!) feels a 5 speed would enhance his driving experience ;-)

 

It's in the feasibility study phase at the moment...

We have a 2ltr Pinto in that goes well, when cruising at motorway speeds the revs are high, around 4500, with the 4 speed box. Just considering if the advantage a 5 sp box will make for a lower cruise rev, will be worth the change. Need to review the dif as only had the car a few months and I think the dif is an orig triumph build part? So I am unsure what linking may be necessary. At the minute the box is a type E.

 

A bit more looking and thinking needed before the winter layup and decision time comes around.
