Urgent Advice Needed, Should I Buy?

Guys,

New to this site but would very much appreciate your thoughts.

I have been offered a correctly registered (f plate) Robin Hood, built in 2008 no MOT or TAX, runs, most electrics work (not the indicators), I suspect it's blowing a bit, my hesitancy is:

1/ owner only has the v5 in his name and no other paperwork (he does seem trust worthy)

2/ car has been standing for quite some time in his garage (approx 6 months) with him starting it every now and again

What else should I look out for? Visually it does look tidy and I am very much tempted.

Please let me have your thoughts ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome, you've come to the correct place for guidance. :)

I built mine, so not overly qualified to comment, but others will for sure.

The biggest point of importance, in my opinion is that the logbook states

Robin Hood as you say and the chassis no / engine no match the V5.

Electrical gremlins are fairly easily sorted as is an MoT.

Let people know where abouts you are, the car may well be known on here

already by somebody.

Thanks for the the reply, I'm in Burton on Trent and the car is in Alaston, Derby, don't think the car will be well known as its been garaged for quite sometime, seems its was bought on a whim (never known that before??)

If the V5 says Robin Hood that's good enough for now, next step is what price is he asking for it?

Have you identified the model?

What is the running gear? Most are Sierra.

What engine

How much can you knock him down on price?

Sorry guys should have been totally transparent, it's eBay ref 221137133060, not much detail on the listing but can add its got adjustable suspension, discs front and drums back, that's about it.

Look forward to your thoughts.

Robin Hood 2b with wishbones

Crocodile bonnet

Fittings on the windscreen pillars for side screens

Turn buckles on the windscreen but not on the rear so probably had a Surry top

Looks tidy and has the best front suspension
