Tps Position

Hi folks, I just want to bounce an idea about to see if its got legs;

 

I've been doing a bit of forward planing tonight and looking at the position of the tps on the edelbrock carb. I've got a few ideas for this which involve fabricating some fancy brackets to mount it on the side of the carb (activated via the primary butterfly spindle).

 

Then I thought.....a simpler solution would be to mount the tps on the accelerator pedal. I could use the pivot point on the pedal to drive the sensor shaft.

 

I know to achieve good accuracy I'd have to make sure that there was no slack in the accel cable.

 

Has anyone else done this?

 

Do you think it would work?

 

Ps...I don't fancy messing about with the megajolt converting it from tps to map.

Technically it would work but if mounted well on the carbs I think would be better and less likely to go out of adjustment

i'd prefer the carb based solution, but can't find an overriding reason why. Should work.

 

Have you thought about a lumenition (or similar) setup with vac advance?

I can't seem to think of any strong reasons why not to put it on the pedal, but I agree that the carb solution would be better. I think I'm going to keep this idea as a plan B.

 

Recalibrating the TPS is only a 2 second job on the megajolt software.
