£15 is not the issue, value for money is!!

Elitism?, if the club owned the forum I may agree but it doesn't.

Also every thread ending in "join the club" is counter productive

And finally the mag is already online via the members benefits section under Boys In Hoods thread!!

Honest feedback nothing more or less

Personally I do a lot of on screen reading at work and would happily pay an extra to receive a paper copy.

It's to flick through if you want to check something, or if the wife is using the lap top.

As for value for money, that's open to opinion. If there wasn't any membership fees paid, then the forum would cease, simple sums.

So for the £15, what you get for a year work it out per day - less than peanuts!

My view is that £15 gives you the right to ask, probe, post, get help from other members, (parts, guidance, assistance or really big favours).

We are social animals and like to socialise and 'belong' - well mostly.

And I like the sense of 'belonging' - whats wrong with that?

I know this is off topic and apologise

How about a separate Sub Forum for traders to post traders adverts like FastDans or other companies or any other people that sell a service like IVA paperwork tasks, etc... That should make the deals quick simple and easy to locate.

Maybe with a special traders membership (only £15) that would allow them only to make posts in the new sub forum only. Perhaps the membership pack would not include a card and magazine as potentially a trader has no interest in the club apart from selling their service/items. Also existing members would have to pay extra to be traders too to be allowed to post in the new sub forum.

All sounds like good stuff to me.

If you did a seperate area for trade posts - please make them editable by the trader. The LCB ones are not (they are locked topics) and this makes it awkward - as every time you want to advertise a new product you have to start a new post, which then looks like your bombarding the forum with adverts.

Lots of really good ideas I like most don't dislike any of them to say no way or decline , I know several people really want to get involved and provide things we have not done either at all or not for a while what it needs is for some [all?] the proposers to support things ,as 3 for a block booking track day doesent work I personal am not rhat bothered about track days but would turn out for Blyton [ it,s close ] to help out and get some use from my photo eqpt .A few of us had a really good day out [ if alittle wet] at the Lincs aero heritage site last year and hope fully I will be able to org another one this year. Finishing off I must really thank Phil for doing a really good job with the video ,well done mate mower man

so do we need to approach the web monkey to buy the rights to the rhocar site and either pay matt to run it or find someone to host it .

we could then organize the forum as the members want it not as matt has it set up.it is very long winded at the moment to change anything .

just a few ideas

get the forum into club hands .

talk to gbs re integration of the brand names and types whatever .

and their participation with the club, they do haul all the club gear to and from shows .

how close to the club do they want to be ?

there have been issues that i feel richard should have addressed here and has not ?

not trying to divide but to unite.

this is a great club this is a large club and as such needs a great leader ship to push us forward .

steve has done a sterling job over the last 4 years , at the agm a new leadership will be chosen ,and i hope a

new way foreword will become apparent .not just to change but to enhance rhocar

vote for a change here ?

Dad,

Good suggestions, but I don't know know whether this would need to be voted on at the AGM (if in the club constitution - do we have a constitution?).

This would then, if passed by attending members, allow the comittee the freedom you suggest moving forward. Guess it depends on the 'legallities & technicalities', stuff which is far over my head!

As with most things, there must be a little pain to endure first before the benefits can be realised.

I agree Steve has done a great job over the last 4 years and the new Leadership may be the catalyst to evolve and enhance the club.

Just my thoughts,

Al

phil i think we need a poll on line. can we change the Constitution on line without the rest of rhhocar being asked ,

prob not ||||||||||||||| .cos a lot of members arnt on line .

i do feel the committee needs more freedom to take the club forward , and we need to believe more in the committee

to take us forward with ought a great deal of wrangling and time wasting .
