Wooooow

Had this bearing lying about for ages why didnt I do it sooner. Only pushed car into garage so far and steering feels so much more smoother and solid.

Now how do I fix the auto indicator cancel ?

Anyone thinking about the bearing mod get it done silky smooth now ;-)

Stuart.

does the escort stalks use a simular item ??

Mk 2 will have something similar - more like a plastic bowl similar to that on the Cortina (sorry for the weird description but I can't find a suitable picture at the moment). Dunno about Mk 3 onwards..

The bearings are often used a go-kart axle bearings so if you have trouble finding them have a search on flebay for that. They come in a couple of standard sizes but one inch is the one you want - could be advertised as 25mm as there's very little difference.

Shouldn't be more than a few pounds - the place listed on the NW site is a bit over-priced. They might be a far higher quality bearing (personally I don't think so) but given the loads they are designed for and what we are actually doing with them even a cheap rubbish one that might not last a season on a cart should last a lifetime on our steering.
