How Much Torque In A Clothes Peg Spring?

Yes its really is a question.....

Before I go trying to find some form of gauge and measuring mechanism to test one, just thought I'd throw the question out here for all you proper engineers.

Anyone know how much torque there is a in a typical clothes peg torsion spring? (Assuming there is a such a thing - the selection I dismantled from the clothes line outside feel pretty similar )

So why am I asking......

Prototyping a latching mechanism and the force of a cloths peg feels about the right amount of pressure to hold the latch in place but still make it easily unlatch when pushed in the right place. But... the spring in the cloths peg is too small to be mounted in the mechanism, so I'm trying to match available springs of various I/D, windings, materials and wire sizes. The one key bit I'm missing is matching the torque - hence the question...
