Pinto Swap Over Help Required

hi all,

 

anyone about this weekend that fancies assisting with an engine swap??? 2.0L pinto out 2.0L pinto in. never done it before so would like some assistance if anyone is free.

 

I am in leicester and tea, biscuits and even pizza would be put on for helpers.

Keith, sorry I can't make it to lend a hand. Swmbo sends her best regards and hopes that your new addition to the family is keeping you on your toes!!!

 

IMO there is nothing too difficult about what your doing other than getting the engine connected back onto the gearbox. For me it sometimes slipped back on in a couple of minutes and other times I could spend half an hour bouncing it around to try and get it back on!! Make sure your clutch plate is perfectly centred to the spigot bearing and that the engine and gearbox are in line before trying to push them back together.

It makes life much easier if you can leave the gearbox connected and taken both engine and box in/out together...but not alwys possibly and you need to watch out for the gearbox oil pouring from the tail!!
