1/2" Unf Long Nut/studding Connector

Hi All.

 

Need 2 long nuts (50mm) to join a male rose joint to tracking arm, both are 1/2" UNF and I cannot find such an item.. No problem with metric sizes just cant find the unf jobs! before i start to try and make ones are they available off the shelf? tried ral des, burtons and 3 engineering supplies near me.

I would get friendly with your local machine shop. I doubt you will find something that specific sat on a shelf. Couple of quid for a bit of hex bar, a few drills and a Tap and 30 mins on a lathe! Perfect job for an machine shop apprentice!

You need to look for threaded sleeves, not nuts.

 

Also it may be quicker/easier to fit female rod ends.

I tried the female type but they didnt allow enough movement and had to go with high misalignment jobs which I can only get in male form. I have the threaded sleeves but they are too short. Im in northern Ireland. Will orob end uo with a square bar drilled and tapped. Cheers.
