Lol. Haven't actually got them yet. Just agreed to buy today and little bit excited. Should be here for next week so depending how much I get done tomorrow will fit next weekend... Who am I kidding, they will be going on next weekend regardless!

Very near to the side wall, what filters are you going to use?

Good spot. It's something I've got to look at addressing though I have some ideas on how to do it, just got to see what works.

 

Dellorto uk can't supply the cold start lever, they can supply every other part of the cold start system but not the lever, going to have to look at making something or having something made.

Couple of updates on progress so far today.

 

Fitted ETB rev counter and speedo

 

 

 

 

Unpacked the the new distributor with accuspark ignition fitted and mechanical advance locked out so that it can be used with the accuspark blackbox

 

 

 

 

 

Have fitted the distributor and will be wiring in the blackbox later.

 

Also for those interested in fitting a blackbox, below is my hand drawn wiring diagram. The manual is good, but isn't really written to accommodate people going from an old dizzy without accuspark straight to a blackbox install, so took a bit of working out.

No problem. I'm just installing the mapping software but having some issues with the laptop I'm using, though i think is to do with not having the right updates installed.

All sorted. Software very simple to use. Just got to work out why I should programme it to be...

Don't pay attention to the figures, I was playing and have not uploaded anything to the blackbox yet, I need to work out what is a good base map before I upload it.

It's all temporarily wired in, just haven't had chance to put a map on yet. If I get my tintop sorted tonight I may upload a map and see what happens.

Ok, before anyone else says it, yes there are far more important jobs I should be doing on the build before what I have done today, but I felt the need to do something "visible". So yesterday an today were spent in prep and in carrying out some painting!

 

Because I removed the windscreen some filling was needed on the scuttle which meant I was always going to do need to paint it before IVA.

 

In etch primer

 

Mid-way through paint coats

 

Also painted part of the mirror base to match the scuttle leaving just the upright chrome

 

Gave the aeroscreen a quick dusting of satin black and all reassembled
