How Many Kit Cars Are There?

Hi,

 

I sent a photo of my Super Spec to a friend in India. He had never seen a car like it before and asked 'How many cars like that are there in the UK?' and I had to confess I didn't know.

 

So does anyone know roughly how many Lotus7 lookalike cars are actually on the road in the UK? What about other kit cars?

 

For myself I often wonder what proportion of kits actually get finished? I bought mine when it was 4 years old on ebay and it had had hardly been started.

I would say the bigger question is part built with the wife nagging put it on ebay

Make that 10,004 as I also have had 4............

It must be more than 10000 as RS was selling 50 + per month 2B's and it's derivatives for about 6 years and he was only one all be it the biggest manufacturer. There must have been over the years 15 to 20 others all supplying 7 stile kits.
