Supercharging An Mx5 Engine

Coming together nicely Rich. Bit of a machining marathon.... Let me know crank pulley size as I think the new one may be smaller which might mean a belt change

To be honest Terry the hours fly by when I'm machining, I get so much satisfaction from it.....sad really

 

I'll measure the bottom pulley up tonight and let you know, but I'll be suprised if it is smaller than the original. I'd thought we'd need a smaller belt anyway becasue of the smaller dia supercharger pulley you bought.

 

A bit of drilling tonight to bolt the outlet spigot to the main block and then onto the milling machine for the next marathon

I really ought to get over to the workshop with you one day Rich. Still never been and shouldn't mind having a play. It'll be like my apprenticeship days going back on a manual.

Give it a couple of months as the workshop is being moved to my garage as dad is moving onto bigger and better toys before Xmas so has handed all the machines down to me.....in exchange for his welder back though lol

5 hours on the milling machine.....almost lost it though....it jumped out of the vice when it was nearing completion!! Luckily not much damage and only a a couple of small dings to smooth out

I wanted to fit the outlet plenum to the charger today but the 4 bolts put a stop on things.....I assumed at a glance they were m6.....but they're m7!!! Stupid size!!
