Pinto Engine Angle

Have taken over a part built 2B and have noticed that the 1.6 Pinto engine is inclined towards the front of the car (3/4 inch slope from the back to the front) Is this correct as I thought that the oil pick up was at the back of the engine? Is there something wrong?

the engine in my 2b was the same it ran fine no issues just don't run it with cam cover off

Mines the same, but have been advised to put some spacers under engine mounts to level it out. but this will effect all other components.

so undecided.

have a standard 1.6 pinto with shortened sump (no additional bit) in my 2b. It also slopes to the front. Never had a problem. The pickup entered at the back but must sit about central in the deep part of the sump so it will never run dry in normal conditions. Done 6000miles since sva like it.

 

Main problem you might get is oil seeping at the front of the cam cover as the oil sits against the join. prob could lift it a bit if you are worried but watch you don't hit the bonnet with the air filter etc.

I have leveled mine you'll probably find you can drop the gearbox mount a bit

 

I also packed out the engine mounts a bit
