Nearly Had A Wrecked Engine Today !

Started the kit up today to go for a little run out and heard a worrying rattling type noise from the the engine, popped the bonnet up to try and trace it to find the sound seemed to be from under the cam belt cover! stripped the covers off to find a very loose cambelt the belt was flicking against the cam covers. Bloody glad i took the covers off and checked as that could have been a very dead 37000mile old zetec

The Cam belt Gremlin must be touring our area at the moment chaps. Keep a lookout for the little devil.

I've got a similar issue with the tin top, the chain has stretched and is hitting the cam cover. Mazda want over £1.5k to fix so I'm doing myself but had to get parts from America. So far its cost me £350 in parts and tools, money that would have been better spent on the Hood.
