Sierra Dipped Beam Switch Issue

Hey guys, hope you all had a lovely Xmas!

After a bit of advise please with my sierra lighting switch. Coming to the final stages of wiring up my premier wiring loom, but noticed a slight problem. I have all lights wired up and working, but my dipped beam is not working when the switch is in position 2 as it should be. The sidelights work fine on position one, but when 2 is selected nothing happens. If I hold the switch in between position one and two then the dipped beam lights come on, but only if I hold it half way. I've tried another switch, yet it is exactly the same.

Does anyone have any ideas at all please. I'm starting to think I may have a wire wrong somewhere down the line.

two types of switches, suspect you have two spade terminals on top of the right switch.

 

if so one (the left one) should be labelled 31.

 

for headlights to work with that switch and Premier you need a +12v feed to that terminal.

 

OR

 

you can wire it as ford intended to switch earth but you will have to change the relay wiring.

Thanks for the reply, I Beleive I already have a 12v feed on the spade terminal connected.

What would I need to do to re wire the relay? Thanks, Danny

I had the same issue as I also had the later switch gear. I did the conversion to switched neutral, not hard to do but takes a bit of time.

if you have a +12v feed already, check you have +12v at the brown black wire that comes from the right switch across to the left switch (with ignition and headlights switched on.

 

This wire is often cut in error when removing from the donor car. with out it will not work + OR - switched.
