Just fitted a stainless steel tank and about to fit a breather pipe into it. Can the breather pipe be fitted so that it terminates 50 mm below the filler cap with a bend pointing back to the tank?

If you fill the tank it may push fuel out or syphonif you terminate breather below filler you should fit a roll over valve without inverted U tube

If you then fill the tank the tank won't breath until fuel level is below ball valve

Hi Gerry, you can get the roll over vent valves (as Snapperpaul recommends) easily enough from E Bay.

As suggested by Mick (Mowerman) in a post a little while ago, to minimise the slow filling issue sometimes experienced, it might be worth fitting 2 breathers allowing the tank to vent quicker when you are filling.

It'll be easier at your stage of build than retro fit.

How do you dit the roll over valve to the filler neck, can I fit it in the return back to the tank via a t-piece, return to the t-peice, 1 end to the roll over then the other back to the tank, just mount the rollover vertical and connect to the chasis higher than the return
