Auto Or Not Starter

My pinto is dated October '88 and the sierra it was from was reg'd Jan '89, so if Chris's dates are good then you could be lucky.

Yes I think so mount looks right &body is longer

enclosed is picture of a starter from 2.0 twin cam looking at yours they don't look the same I put this on my pinto 1.6 and it did not engage with the starter ring I bought a starter from a capri and it worked.

THat sounds like the 9/10 tooth problem ,not 100% but believe the starters are the same but the tooth number is possibly random , I had a dozen or so out at my suppliers before getting the right one they didn't know about it till I got the wrong one , or at least thats what they said and after dealing with them for 20 /30 years I tend to believe them mow erman
