What Radiator

I have a 2b with no radiator what radiator should I be buying I have a pinto engine installed.

 

Do I get one with the fan attached

 

Any ideas.

Best option is the thicker Coolman from GBS (27 twin core) and put an electric fan with thermostat switch

I bought a radiator from Boston radiators 42 twin core for £140

For a standard Pinto engine a Cortina rad is fine & was original fitment to RHs.

The Coolman is a good upgrade once you hit 140 bhp upwards & is a direct replacement for the Cortina one

An electric fan & thermostat switch is a good idea too

Ihave recently bought an alloy rad for a2 litre mk1 rs2000 brand new for 125 £ inc carriage hoping to fit in the next couple of weeks will report when its done, Ok made in China, comes with a new cap [1bar] very nicely made , welded tanks etc more as isay when its fitted mowerman

im running a Honda civic alloy rad with 12'' electric fan and a 82 stat with no issues at all ..rads can be had new for 70 quid ish

i run a polo rad £30 off ebay brand new. hth just need to extend the rad hoses slightly

I ran a polo Rad in my Pinto days and that was chucking out about 170 Brake with no overheating issues. Clever placement and angles can make it seem bigger to the air.

my 2b is sliding pillar and no polo rad would fit in .. what model do you have ??

There are several Cortina radiators on eBay and that was what was originally fitted to the 2b. Either that or the coolman which is the same size but with extra cores

The Polo rad I have (which is spoken for) is for an 1100 85-92..its made by Nissens, ref. 5163

It measures 32cm by 54 cm and is twin core.

If you have no current radiator then you'll need new hoses anyway
