Up for run out, but would be struggling (as things stand at the moment) for this week end due to committments.

I like the idea of whizzing around the Romney Marsh, Rye etc.

Definitely can't do this week end chaps, i've got a wonky lower steering column UJ (about 5mm of play at the steering wheel).

The column is turning right down to the rack ok, nice and precise, but the rack input rotation is a little 'delayed', you can see the rotation of the column right down to the lower UJ, but nowt on the rack input shaft until the wheel is rotated about 5mm.

 

Ho hum, new lower steering UJ required.......

Think it's an Escort rack Bob.

I'll take the UJ off tomorrow and pop over to CBS next Saturday and get a matching one, but better quality hopefully!

Its not just the nut/bolt loosened off is it? or bottomed out?

Hang fire on CBS....I'll have a look down the parts bin in the morning.

I had all the bits for a standard sierra rack, but then changed to the PS rack & had to make up a new column.

My wife will confirm I never chuck anything out....

Does your column end with the triangular rod, or a spline?
