Bottom Hose

Hi anyone point me in right direction of what to fit for bottom hose on my 2b

And before anyone says a rubber hose I like to know what others have done

get a flexi hose from cbs that's wot I got

Depends on radiator but I think mine is a flexi hose meant for a mk3 cortina.

IIRC isn't it an odd size, 38 mm @ pump down to 32 mm @ rad.??

I went to my local propper motor factors who had a Gates hose catalog. This lists all sorts of standard hoses, my top and bottom hoses could both be fitted with a single right angle bend. I measured the diameters of the rad connections and the water pump and thermostat connections ( top and bottom hoses) and approx lengths. It then took a short time to find over length hoses with the correct diameters which I cut down to length when fitting. The motor factors were able to get these in about 4 hours, very good service in my book.

Measure the outlet on the bottom of the radiator and the inlet to the water pump for starters. You are unlikely to get an original sierra hose that will fit so may need to make something up combining two hoses.

I made one up with a beaded joiner and some silicone hoses. The flexi ones are ok but you dont have much say in where they go for neatness. If you make your own up you can make it follow whatever route you wish perhaps avoiding belts or steering racks. I always use silicone hose now as it is much easier to work with both to cut and to get on tight fittings.

i started with a flex hose now changed to blue silicon hose with a reducer had to make a v nick in the bottom cross bar due to the bottom rad out let was too close

my local motor factors has a room in the cellar full of new old stock hoses. I bought a bag full and made up what I needed.

tried ford though ?? it may be possible if its a oe engine and rad

I found a silicone hose made for oval racers which has a longer 32mm section and just extended with ally tube to meet rad with a 4" bit cut off silicone hose to fit
