Sikabond

I stuff I've used to bond my cycle wings came in a yellow sausage packet, it doesn't appear to state what type it is. It's nearly 24hrs since I fitted the wings and it doesn't appear to have fully set yet, it's holding them fine but I'd not risk driving yet.

Does anyone know what type I have used from the description?

Thanks

There are brand names "Sika flex" or the correct chemical name Polyurethane Sealant. (Black - rubbery type)

Should set fairly quickly as it uses moisture in the air to cure off I believe.

I managed to keep some in a tube provided I had sealed the ends (both of them - did the other come as a ring pull to fit the mastic gun?) and had some of those "silica gel" packets lying about.

The centre takes longer to go off though, especially if it's thick. You can sometimes still get un-cured stuff from the centre of the tube weeks later.

Should stick like the proverbials ...

Simon.

While H&S will probably throw a wobbler at me for suggesting it, I find a bit of brake cleaner on some blue roll gets the stuff off nice and easy while it's still unset on your fingers :) otherwise wait for it to dry and it just peels off like... well... rubber.
