I wonder if any of the experts out will be able to help my son. He has shoehorned a v6 3l engine from a 1999 s type jaguar into his rebuilt mgbgt. we have got the beast started. However, the obd2 port had been cut off and tied to the top of the engine. He wants to reattach the obd2 back to the loom so that he can do the necessary on laptop. But we cannot find any infomation anywhere on wiring diagrams in haynes, to the internet on where the wires go to. have contacted jaguar dealers and service agents who are not in the bit interested and state that they will not help at all!

 

we have the port which is a J1850PWM PORT. and have managed to sort out the following from internet

 

WIRES....2..purple/red to j1815bus+

4..black chassis ground

5....black/yellow...signal ground

 

7..grey/black

 

10 blue/red....j1850bus-

 

13 yellow/green

16 orange/yellow..battery live

 

we have worked out number 4 and 16 !

but no idea where the rest go to. is j1850bus the ecu?

any help or advice on where to go to appreciated.

Hi Adrian, is there a Haynes Manual available for the Jag donor -- should have all the electrical circuits.

thanks. the haynes manuals do not show the obd on any of the diagrams. nor do any wiring digrams on the net. it lookslike we may have to get a second loom and trace it out.
