Pinto 2.0 .38 Dgas Carbs Lowered Sump

Lowered sump has nothing to do with power

38DGAS is a V6 carb good for 150bhp if jetted right but you need more than a standard pinto

Injection head will get 110 ish, more compression and an FR32 closer to 130

A carb only supply's the fuel an engine requires

It does not give extra bhp

I am willing to bet that no two 2B's are built exactly alike. So performance figures are unpredictable (and irrelevant in my opinion) so drive the car and if you like the way it runs, stick with it. It can get expensive chasing bhp. No idea what Betty puts out but she has torque that would rival a diesel.

The Pinto is easy to tune to 130bhp

Injection head is a key starting point

Thinner gasket for a little more compression

Camshaft and vernier pulley

Rolling road setup

I have a couple of injection heads and some tricks you can use

For higher BHP there is a noticeable cost increase as you will need big inlets, multiple carbs

More compression and probably stronger or reworked rods

The next step is Forged Pistons and steel rods

OUCH £500 for pistons £300 for rods

The injection head is the same as a standard head except it has better inlet port flow worth 10 to 15bhp

You'll need a head gasket set but use a Rienze gasket as its thinner

You'll need to replace head bolts

If you don't know how old the cambelt is change that

What I do is to amass the bits I need over a period of time that way the pain feel a lot less
