After enquiring about painters at yesterdays meet, I have 3 potential painters coming round to check out the car and provide a quote. Initial budget quotes seems reasonable. This afternoon I decided to make my battery tray and stonechip the engine bay.

Folded sheet metal with holes drilled into it.

Suspension build started today, I can see the end in sight now. Getting pretty excited

New shocks painted red and installed. I made a new top arm link which I will post up later

The front hubs have had the ring welded on machined down and balanced on the lathe. Had the DTI on and it runs pretty true. Bearings pressed in tonight. The hubs have been drilled to 108 x 4 pcd and will accept the sierra vented disc. Just need to sort out the caliper mounting. I have sent a drawing off for laser cutting and I will mock up with spacers and send to our resident machinist (steamer) to make me a shiny aluminium one.

The rear axle has also been assembled. Bit of a play on the diff thrust washers. I have ordered a new diff to rebuild. I will put this diff in and build up an LSD later.

I have been making tools again. I have this awkward hub nut that need torqueing up. And could not find a decent sized/priced socket. So i had one laser cut. Turned out quite well. Turned a recess into the first cap before `it was welded to allow for a thicker nut.

The brake caliper mounting brackets arrived with the laser cut load. Set it up and tack welded it. Will be filly welded tomorrow
