Axle Stand Death Trap!

Just bought some new axle stands, ones with folding legs for "space saving capabilities!" Perfect! My flat is already cluttered enough with car parts so folding them into a box when not in use would be fantastic!

However, I do firmly believe they meant they save space underneath the vehicle you are working on as they collapse and wobble around to the extent that even I felt they would be unsafe!! And I bought these new ones because I finally decided that the ones that had previously being damaged by dragging a car off them were no longer safe but would currently choose them over these!

Just wondering if anyone had ever used a set of these without being crushed?

The ones I've got just have far too much play in them for my liking. Quick test, my flat mate and I put the sofa on them, definitely didn't feel stable at all, even with a bit of weight on them. They make cheap knock offs look good!

Yep, emailed them back asking for a refund. They refused at first because they weren't damaged and that is was my fault for ordering something I wasn't happy with. I reiterated they weren't damaged, I was still within my distance selling cooling off period, they were unsafe and would also report them to ebay for selling dangerous items. Magically, my money reappeared in my account pretty sharpish. Not had any request for them back so think I will leave it a month before taking them to the scrap yard.

I'll get a link or a picture of the stands once my laptop is back up and running.
