just got to get the gauges working now hhmmm!!!

got the instrument back lights working that's it so far been wrestling with the fuel gauge for the last two hours just cant get it to work

Fuel gauges work on varying resistance. Could be a sender gauge mismatch on the resistances?

What resistance are you getting on the signal wire at the sender end to the chassis ground (disconnect meter for now to measure this)

 

I was reading ~ 4 ohms when empty going to ~ 140 ohms when full. So if you take the signal out from the meter and put it through a resistor to the chassis between these two figures, you should see some sort of reading on the dial. It may be a slow response if the meter is damped. At least you can measure the sender and test the gauge separately this way.

its works was trying a spare fuel gauge I had its obviously no good just wired up the one on the car and it works cool

so I have dash lights I have a fuel gauge I also have a temp gauge but still cant get tacho working this is the third tacho ive tried to get working on the megajolt !*"!***@@@

I use a VDO tacho which is fed with +12v, earth and the signal comes from pin 11 on the EDIS plug.

Have you looked at the tacho instructions on the Autolabs site? I believe their are 2 outputs off the Megajolt to suit different tachos. Also some tachos use a fly back pulse from the coil pack.

a bit of luck have movement on the tacho now but don't think it is reading right think its only showing about half the revs it should any more thoughts ?

ah thanks bob but I have just spotted that the tacho I have just got working is for a six cylinder is there anyway I can make it work

Fit a v6 ;-)
