Oil Pressure Light

Would I be failed if I have an oil pressure warning light but it doesn't do anything? The panel I have has one as part of it, but I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, so the light won't be used, would I be penalised for that? If I will be, then I think I'll ad hoc it onto the battery warning light so that it turns on with ignition on as it should do and turns off on engine start

That trick is easy to spot.

Turn any engine of and switch ignition back on quickly, the oil pressure light should stay off for a while until the pressure drops in the engine.

If it's on straight away, you've either wired it as you said, or you have low to no oil pressure.

I think it is not a necessity if you have a working gauge.

Can anyone be more precise for Ali.

My understanding is that cars are required to have very little.

Speedo, Main beam warning, Indicator warning, Highintensity rear light warning.

If it does not affect other road users then it is not needed and not tested.
