Painting Brake Discs

Richard is correct.

ALL mating surfaces should be clean dirt or paint free.

It would only take a small amount of paint, swarf, rust or any foreign matter to cause your wheels to run out of line. ie like a buckled wheel.

Vibration would start well before any visual signs are apparent.

+ the paint will gradually get compressed or wear off leaving the wheel nuts loose.

Had that exact issue on a new flex plate on an auto box. It was nicely painted, but the

whole thing came loose after just 2 runs.

The sparks looked great coming from under the car.....

Ive been painting brake discs ,cos I hate the rusty look for over 13 years now with good old hammerite and a brush.. never had a bolt/nut come loose.
