Hello

I know this topic has been brought up many times, but I am sending off my SVA Form this week - Axle 1 450kg Axle 2 600kg Gross 1050kg - does this sound correct?

Car is a 2b plus

Also does anybody know the current SVA fee and does it include VAT?

Thanks

Andy

Hi Andy.

For my axle weights I put on the form 1. 400kgs 2. 550kgs gross 950kgs

the SVA inspector changed them to 1. 340kgs 2. 480kgs gross 820kgs

This was after he had weight the car.

I dont relly know how much it matters.

Piddy.

Oops!

I just filled my form in and sent it with front 650, rear 450!!!

SVA test is 20th May, so no doubt thats a fail point (one of the many)

At least its easily fixed!!!! :(

That's easily sorted. Phone RHE (phone landline NOT tech help)and ask them for a letter stating the correct values. Take this with you for the SVA and when he questions the figures give him the letter, and hey presto one less worry.

Cheers mitch

Phoned RS, says that the design weights in the video are correct?? and that they only base their valueson one test station requirements.

As we know these requirements seem to vary (greatly) between stations, so its a case of suck it and see.

It was worth a try anyway. Hope ive got a nice friendly guy next tues who will just change the numbers if needs be!!!!

I used the RH Video weights on the SVA form . During the test the car was weighed and it was different - but not by a whole lot . The tester DID us the weights during the brake tests - they are fed into the spreadsheet that calculates the braking efficiency . For mine he changed the weights towards the actual from the design ones to get a good balance out of the brake test spreadsheet .

In summary - I think you'll be OK with the RH ones as a start point .
