Hi

Having just completed the temporary install of gbs front handling kit + gas shocks all seems good. Next is the rear gaz shocks kit advice needed do you remove the long damper unit adjacent the spring set up from the wishbone if so do you remove the out riggers that hold the damper.

Jacko,

All you are left with at teh back is the new Gaz, Avo, Protech, damper unit.

The old ford external spring is ditched.

You need to make up some Big U fittings. The original was a U welded to tube that slid up inside the roll bar, for the top and a

Big U with a bolt through the bottom to attatch to the ford swinging arms.( large washers needed) or weld plates in and drill through.up and .

The damper was mounted on bolts through the U.s

You set your rear ride height by how far you insert the tubes into the roll bar. Drill through and fix with nut&bolt. No an easy job with the bodywork on. Give it some thought first.

or make sure the roll bar ends are the same length from the top. ( Grinder , recip saw !) fit tubes in fully, drill and self tap to secure ( the weight of the car should stop them ever coming out). . make up the lower U - adjust shock mounting hole to set ride height. 7" in front of rear wings. The gap over the rear wheel is not constant --probably about 4-5 inches...!!! at top and 1-2 to the rear.

Hi. Just started the strip out of rear old ford spring and damper suspension have ordered from GBS new bottom U mountings for gaz shocks. As no rear wings have ever been fitted measurement was taken from u/side lower return on side panel at rear to ground each side had 8.1/2 lnches with standard sierra wheels on is there a dim from u/side of diff to ground for ride height.GBS gel fibre one piece wings are to be fitted with 15 inch wheels but theres not much difference in height when placed to side of standard wheel this is unladen weight with no petrol.
