Brake Line Fixings Dims

Hi.

Can any one confirm the spacing dims for brake lines fixing required by the iva i'm using the standard sierra set up discs and drums while i can still get to them. Looking through previous posts seems some difference .

I would recommend 150 mm (or 6 inches in old money).

 

It was certainly the standard for the SVA and is ok for the IVA as far as I know

Decide position of first & last fixings ( between 2 bends ) divide that measure by 6 ( use inches ) make the fraction a whole number ( 13 3/8" change to 14 ) & re-do sum but divide by new whole number will give nice, neat, evenly spaced clips. This example gives a spacing of 5 3/4" or if you must work in modern foreign = 146 mm

I think the IVA requires brake pipes securing a minmum of every 300mm but I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

The IVA manual states 'A brake pipe or hose must be adequately clipped or otherwise supported' - so I guess it's down to the examiner?

300mm but it always feels better at 150 to 200
