Radiator

It doesn't specify the core thickness - thicker core = more cooling.

Standard Cortina rad is 2 core, Coolman rad in 4 core (I think) so has much better cooling capacity (more surface area and water capacity), and obviously dearer to make.

The one in your link is an aftermarket for a small VW.

As they are cheap, they are used, but weather they are up to the job on a Zetec Zero, I have no idea. As Richy depth is also important, as is air flow, and heat transfer.

I would find someone who has one fitted to a Zero, and can vouch for the fact they will keep a Zetec in its 94 to 98 band without trouble.

The Vdub type rads have plastic ends, remember cooling is one thing, but you have to mount it on the zero rad mounts, or mod, and fit a fan, although there appears to be some captive bolts, that could maybe be used.

Guest ali2992

anyone have any experience of running a polo fan with mx5 engines? i currently have one in, but i have been looking at getting an aluminium coolex one as the polo one just looks miniscule for the size of the engine.

Hi Nelmo

Seeing as you're a club member, I have a (used) Cortina rad, and

a new Nissens Polo rad (but no fan) if you want to use them for trial fitting or final use.

You are welcome to either or both, no charge, but collection from Orpington only.

If you want more info just PM me.

Guest Ian & Carole

Was that the Classic? If so I remember that one well.....not the best camping experience,

but still a grand event. My Coolman also coped well with a tuned Redtop.

Yes Bob indeed it was.

Carole suffered heat stroke for the 1st 2 days.
