Fuel Tank Sealer

I used it on mine, it wasn't holed but there was a lot of rust and crud in it. I put a kilo of fish tank gravel in it, shook it around until my arms hurt, tipped it out and repeated with tank different way up until all the inside had been done. Then several rinses with clean petrol, left that to evaporate and then a final vacuum out to remove any remaining dust.

I didn't use their degreaser but followed the instructions for the sealer and it has left a lovely smooth particle free surface which remains today.

I think the gravel was the key part of the process but my arms hurt for days. It did literally take a whole day to do but when you are on a budget.........

Used to use old style cellulose paint to seal rusty motorcycle tanks my mates Norton is still OK after 15+ year's used to put a couple of pints in roll it around and tip out the excess and repeat 2 or 3 times

2 pack's only around £30-40 per 5lt I would think that would do the same job not tried it though might give it a go when I get round to doing the dutton tank. (mk1 escort that's had water in the bottom )

mind you would fiberglass resin do the same job ?

When i made my stainless tank ~7 years ago i welded it all up and checked for leaks and then just to be sure used a tank sealer and ran it around all of the edges to ensure the welds were good and sealed. Been 7 years without a problem.

That was a motorbike tank sealer (smaller can) and did the job for my smallish tank. don't think i even used it all as i just wanted the seams to be sealed.
