Hey Guys & Gals.

Does anyone know the Fuel Running Pressures, Hot & Cold for a Capri 2.8i engine? I have a 5bar system pressure. I'm still bloody struggling to make the thing run proper!!

If any one can help, or know of a garage or someone who specialises in old fords I would be very grateful for any help. I'm at my wits end with the bloody thing.

Cheers

Darren.

If the mechanical fuel distributor and fixed injectors are still used you need 65 psi minimum. The Fuel distributor head will self regulate the fuel pressure - you cant feed it too much. It will just return unused fuel to the tank. On an idle 99% goes back. I use to run in-tank pumps from an Escort RS Turbo. Or the original external bosch fuel pump will do but you WILL need the reservoir that is next to it to smooth the fuel pump pulses. Regularly the external pumps go "weak" and don't deliver enough pressure. You can measure the fuel delivery in a jug with a bridge of the fuel pump relay.

A manual for the system I have uploaded for you - Careful one is 5MB and the other over 17MB
