aggree it must have a sale price but suspect £2k is a bit high for a non runner

I know... Tried fuel, spark, air, timing, compression....all ok. I am no mechanic and haven't got time to figure it out. :(

Have you tried fresh petrol? I've had this happen a couple of times, changed the fuel and fired first time. If it's carbs you could always rig up a small gravity feed tank to try it.
