Tyre Speed Rating?

Hi,

GF needs new tyres for her vw polo 2006 1.4tdi. Current tyres are H rated (130mph) is there any reason we can't use T rated (118mph) tyres. Both well exceed the max the car is going to be able to do.

There are some kumho that are T rated and are B rated for fuel and braking and 68dbs for a good price but i wasn't sure about the speed rating. Otherwise it'll be Continentals for a bit more for the same B rating but 70db sound.

any info appreciated

thanks

ah cool. Doh missed that and i was even looking on black circles. It says H rating so i guess thats the safest to go with.

thinking of these http://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/continental/Conti-Eco-Contact-5/185/60/R14/H/82/f?returnurl=%2forder%2ftyres%3f%26width%3d185%26profile%3d60%26rim%3dR14%26speed%3dAny&tyre=30415343

which seem to get a good rating. It's not exactly a sports car so for me it's about the safety/economy side.

thanks
