Speedo Not Working

Hello all,

 

The speedo on my Exmo isn't working. Its a manual speed (as in not digital). What can I try to get it up and running?

what clocks are you on?

Cable connection to gear box, the circlip is a pig to fit and may have not seated correctly causing cable to disengage

check speedo cable connections 1st.

if it has a kink in it. it could have broken so check that too

Disconnect cable from speedo head and check that the inner rotates when you drive. If it does then the speedo is faulty if it doesn't then the cable has broken or the outer has come loose. If you need to change the cable then depending on the car you could cut a hole in the gearbox tunnel to help gain access.

When this happens to me (regularly) it is just the cable slipping out of the back of the instrument cluster, I just have to reach behind and push it back in. (One of these days I'll remove the dash and do a proper fix )
