My Laptop

Bought a Acer aspire laptop about 9years ago it has been in for repair twice once was my fault down loaded windows 10 and it didn't like that and about a year ago one of the hinges broke so been carefully using it since but decided to fix it with epoxy resin had to take keyboard off to do it put it back together now keyboard won't work mouse works but no keyboard anyone got any ideas wots wrong I have found the on screen keyboard so it is still soldiering on just

usually the fitting of a ribbon cable that attaches the keyboard to the main board.

If I go at weekend Chris fetch it I will sort it for yourob ribbon caught or not connected and Shud of. Just got replacement hinge having my young un teaches you things like replacing keyboards stripping and fitting new hinges and screens etc dap hand at repairing electronics now lol

thanks for the offer jaimo but the hinge is actually ok its the bottom of the laptop which has brocken so there is no where to fix the hinge to

going to make up some external brackets to hold it permanently open sqeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeak

to be fair i did have an old vaio that had a broken hinge and i actually managed to weld it and it worked! although i did have a little burn mark on the one button as i didnt cover it properly. doh.

The graphics card on my Dell XPS went a knacker like they’re prone to doing due to it running very hot. Suspecting a dry joint, I removed the graphics card and then put it in the oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes. Once cooled and refitted, it worked fine.
