Fog Lights

Hi all,

I'm just getting back to working on my 2b after a couple of years inactivity, I'm trying to get the rear fog light to work as per Iva regs,I brought an easilatch but I'm not quite sure what connects to what.

Has anyone else used one of these and can point me in the right direction.

Instructions say :- orange permanent +12v to yellow on easilatch (your existing on/off"latching switch

Red +12v dc to easilatch.

Brown latched +12v output to bulb ( grey/yellow)

Black to earth.

Whats the easiatch meant to help you do? I passed IVA last year and didnt need any fancy electrics for the IVA, just wired so rear foglight would come on with dipped beam but not with side lights.

It's supposed to stop the fog light coming back on after you've switch the light off then switched them back on again,

This mean you don't drive with your fog lights on when not needed.

But if it will pass your way that's what I'll do.

Same here, the IVA assessor did not check that the fog light do not turn back on after turning ignition off. I only fitted diodes to feed the fog switch from lights.

 

However if you want this function you buy a little gadget

This itch has been scratched several times in the past. Easy enough to do with a common relay ( donor car had several ) & a momentary ON switch --spring return to OFF. I posted details of circuit several months ago & cost was around £7 for new relay & switch,
