We spent a very long day at 1320MINI rolling road in St Neots yesterday, with

Dave Rowe from EPS doing the mapping on the MOTEC ECU.

We had no real issues other than the crank trigger wheel failing at 4PM.

Luckily the guys at 1320MINI had a spare sensor.....but it was a completely different size and length

to the one we had fitted. They helped machine up a new bracket to hold the sensor

then we had the final run on the dyno.

This map is designed for road use, and practice at the track.

It runs just 8 of the 16 injectors, and 6PSI on the turbos, hence so much flame & thunder exiting the waste gate.

The engine will take up to 20PSI.

Final result?

1250 bhp at the wheels.....Enjoy !!!

Me too Dan, i can give you 115 ponies. But that vettes a beast. Power of the big block (be better if it was a Ford V8 tho)

Expected HP is 2200 in full race spec.

But quality like that only comes at a huge cost......

Ray wont even tell me the final figure.....!

It's an oil accumulator.

Fancy solenoids & valves allow it to fill up when the engine is at a set (high) oil pressure.

The cylinder is pressurised, & when the parachute & brakes deploy

the oil pressure can drop despite a highly baffled sump, & when it reaches

a pre-set low value, the accumulator pumps the oil back directly into the engine.

Clever eh?

BTW the charge cooler is water cooled from a tank inside the cabin

that has an inbuilt electric pump. We fill the tank with ice and water

before each run, & turn on the pump at the line.

Then we drain out all the warm water back in the pits

That is very clever! I had spotted the water lines on the charge cooler and assumed must have another coolant system in rear or the cabin as there was no rad in front of it. Will have to catch a proper look at this at the pod sometime!
